![]() ![]() Welcome to Christ Church Glenn Dale, “A New Parish with an Old Faith.” We are a new parish, founded on December 2, 2007, but we are rooted in an old faith, as part of the Old Catholic tradition founded by Jesus Christ almost two millennia ago. We worship together each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. for the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the heart of our corporate worship experience. With teaching of the Word, singing and the Holy Sacraments, we gather to support and fortify ourselves for the week ahead. Our members come from all walks of life, different ethnic backgrounds and nationalities. We are an open and welcoming community for all of God’s people. Anyone desiring to grow and flourish in their faith and discover God’s plan for their life has a place at Christ Church, where gender, sexual orientation or religious background pose no barriers. We are a people in the Catholic tradition and Apostolic Succession, and we are ecumenical. We believe that we have a social ministry and strive to share the Good News of the life of “Perfect Peace” that comes from faith in Jesus Christ. Come worship, sing and learn with us and then go into the world stronger, more joyful and better able to handle the stresses of 21st century living. From the Desk of Father Declan
May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, your cardiologist, your gastroenterologist, your urologist, your proctologist, your podiatrist, your psychiatrist, your gynecologist, your plumber and the IRS.
May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift, your abs and your stocks not fall; and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides, your cholesterol, your white blood count and your mortgage interest not rise. May what you see in the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them. May someone you love enough to forgive your faults, be blind to your blemishes, and tell the world about your virtues. May the telemarketers wait to make their sales calls until you finish dinner, and may your check book and your budget balance, and may they include generous amounts for the church. May you remember to say "I love you" at least once a day to your spouse, your child, your parents, your friends. May we live as God intended, in a world at peace and the awareness of His love in every sunset, every flower's unfolding petals, every baby's smile, every lover's kiss, and every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of our heart. May we all go out into the world each day and work like we don't need the money, dance like no one is watching and love like we have never been hurt before. (Author unknown)
